I've just read a quote that made me laugh.

"Anyone who thinks the art of conversation is dead clearly hasn't tried telling a child that it is bedtime".

But it has made me nostalgic for the days when a five minute reprieve from bedtime was the equivalent of winning the Lottery; a ten minute reprieve was winning the Lottery and a Gold Medal at the Olympics and a thirty minute extension was like being handed the whole world on a plate, with double thick icing and two cherries on top.
