I've just finished packing my suitcase. It's taken hours - days, even. Why is it so hard? It's not clothes that take the time - I've packed something for every kind of weather the climate can throw at me.
Well, I'll tell you - I can tell you won't sleep until I do.
It's narrowing down my holiday reading and music that's taking the time.
How much notice do they give those people that take part in Desert Island Discs? Decades? It would take me that long to choose just 10 books. Throw in a couple of light years to decide on 10 songs.
All is not lost. I haven't room for 10 books. Only 2, if I remove the snow goggles, the wellingtons and the sarong.
And I've yet to pack eyewear; contact lenses, prescription sunglasses, non-prescription sunglasses, ordinary glasses, reading glasses, wine glasses ...
... perhaps if I removed that pair of trainer socks?
Decisions, decisions, another glass of wine.
