Don't let the sun go down on me...

I'm back and I'm busy and raindrops keep falling on my head, figuratively and literally, so I'm clinging to my holiday feel-good factor by my sun-wizened fingertips.

But - I had a great holiday and finally got to fulfill a long-held ambition; I saw the Midnight Sun. Yahooo!

(Though I am slightly worried that it doesn't truly count as 'Midnight' sun if you have to put your watch back an hour in order to get to see it...)

Anyway, Iceland was very beautiful and I want to go back asap, but only if it is light all the time, because 24 hours of daylight (give or take the odd minute) is completely energising.

Now, what have you all been up to whilst I've been away in sunny climes??

  It is a uniquely beautiful place - in summer, at least. Not sure I'd be so keen on it in the winter though.

Sounds great... I used to live pretty far north in Scotland, and the pay-back for very little dark in the summer which was fantastic, was virtually no day light in the winter. Which could be awful.

What have I been up to, where shall I begin?

  Yes, I wouldn't like the darker months. I find it bad enough coping with gloomy days here on the Isle of Wight! Sounds like you are even busier than ever - I shall look forward to catching up with your news

  Iceland is definitely worth visiting. Normally, after I've been anticipating somewhere for so long, it's a let down, but not this time.

  I didn't get the best of it - by the time my midnight drink-addled brain had remembered the camera, the sun had nearly gone!

I am glad you enjoyed Iceland! For a few weeks in June, our nights never really get dark but I prefer the way it is now as it is easier to sleep!

We haven't had much sunshine lately and the holiday will soon be over! :-(

  I found it hard to sleep too - it just didn't feel right! But it was a lovely holiday and I can't wait to go back 'north'.
  
  The weather isn't very nice here today, either. Thick black cloud and occasional raindrops. Typical!
