Maths Test?

I flitted into blogland the other night and to my horror saw that I had 40 'new posts'. Now don't get me wrong - I like reading my friends' posts. But 40 over two days? I had a sudden fear that the sky had fallen on everyone's heads. But - to my relief - there was only one post.

Then, the next day there were 72 'new posts' - actually just one. Then 94 new posts - actually 2. Today there were 136 new posts - actually 3.

So now I'm wondering - is this a maths exam? Should I be working out the square root of a blog or something instead of wittering on or catching up on reading? Should I be factorising? Should I do something with a pi?

I do hope not. I warn you now - I have an 'ology or two and they aren't pretty.

That's been happening to me too. A post gets flagged as "New" if edited. Someone or some people must have been editing a lot of posts...

  How bizarre - unless you can flick a switch to make all your previous posts suddenly private? Seems to have resumed to normal proportions today though.

I think some of it is down to editing, but also a lot of people are now back off their hols.

  I find it hard enough to find the time to write new ones, let alone edit old ones, but it would be nice if more people were back on here. x

There seems to be something 'agog' with the 'counter' or 'tagger'....Mine has been awry..as well! BCUK..might have to look at it!

  Yes, I know the feeling when you get back from holiday. But strange that the actual number of posts didn't tally with the counter. x

The whole new posts thing confuses the hell out of me... not that that's hard to do of course! I just look over the first page or so and click 'mark as read'..

  Yes, I do the same - and then am completely perplexed when the next time a new post appears, it reactivates a couple of earlier ones as 'new'. Still, gives me something to moan about

I just work my way steadily through them, never looking at the numbers or I would be terrified of losing weeks at a time LOL

  I always click on my blog page first, so I see the 'number' of new posts before actually seeing the list. But I agree, it is daunting catching up sometimes.

  I don't blame you - my 'blog world' is shrinking all the time. I realised the other day I hadn't even looked at featured blogs for a while to have a moan about them!

I'm totally oblivious and I think you should start worrying about algebra, or at the very least isoscelese triangles. They would make more sense
