It has to be done ...

Just been sent a mailing by Hotel Chocolat.

They have created my own personal web address so that I can order a stonkingly large box of their chocolates. How thoughtful - it makes me feel so special.

Not only has it been at least three weeks since I had any chocolate (I'll just gloss over the pile of fudge, cakes and ice cream I've had in lieu ...) but I'm in need of a bit of cheer-up.

Just nearly knocked myself out on a low-flying branch. I'm seeing stars ... stars that seem to be populated by choc bars.

Used to be a customer of theirs - until I discovered Lidl chocolate - and making my own chocolatey things.

Not all Lidl chocolate is amazingly fantastic and amazingly cheap - I have to admit - but the bars of bitter chocolate and the bars of strawberry/white chocolate with chunks so freeze-dried strawberry in it (I don't usually like white chocolate at all) ARE.

Lidl boxes of chocolate are horrible - all taste of marzipan no matter what shape they are

But we buy a bar in Lidl and either have a square each or if I'm being decadent I make a guache and then make shapes of my own - or coat pieces of fruit/nut in melted chocolate and let set in the fridge - YUM.

PS Lidl sell chocolate biscuits with pictures of ships on them - either a dark pack or milk chocolate and they are a real treat which we prefer to expensive chocolates!

Since we have been 'poor' we've found all sorts of nice things and probably wouldn't go back to the expensive stuff even if we had the money now.

  How timely - I'm going to shop in Lidl later today, so I'll try it. Particularly the strawberry ones - it sounds delicious.
